There are many celebrities who got suspended from high school for bad behavior.
Guitar legend Eric Clapton has inspired generations of musicians. However, his focus on guitar got him in serious trouble in school. He was expelled for playing the instrument in class.

Singer Lily Allen was born into the entertainment industry, but that didn’t stop her from getting booted from a prestigious prep school. She attended 13 schools as a youngster and was expelled more than a few times. When recently asked the reason why, Lily gave a candid reply: “I just wasn’t doing any work and I was drinking and smoking and getting in fights.”

The popular “Girls Aloud” singer Cheryl Cole was suspended from school twice. She was expelled twice for fighting. The singer finally dropped out at the age of 16 to pursue her music career.

Though rapper Snoop Dogg has been in trouble for possession of marijuana and a weapon, his expulsion from an elementary school for gifted students had nothing to do with guns or drugs. He was expelled for flashing his private parts in the classroom. Why does that seem funny?

To his devoted fans, Robert Pattinson is known as the heartthrob of the “Twilight” film series or the dashing Cedric Diggory of “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.” Most were surprised when he recently announced he was suspended from elementary school. He used to save slimy snails and bring them to class.

Most celebrities were good students, but a few stand out. Moreover, it’s hard to imagine

Famous people who have forgiven
Today is International Forgiveness Day, a time to put aside grievances and bury the hatchet. But are some offenses too serious to excuse? Find out who turned the other cheek and who still carries a grudge.

Lady Gaga buys a $50,000 machine that can detect ghosts. Apparently, the flamboyant pop singer believes whole-heartedly that ghosts do exist. Moreover, she believes that they are out to get her.

Bono buys a $1,700 plane ticket just for his hat. Back in 2005, the U2 singer had an urgent need to get his hat from London to Italy. As a result, he decided to spend $1,700 to fly the hat first class.

Kim Basinger spent $20 million for a town. In 1989, Basinger purchased the town of Braselton, Georgia for a cool $20 million. Her goal was to turn it into a destination for movie studios. The idea never really took off and Basinger eventually was forced to sell the town. Given this sound purchase, it should come as no surprise that Basinger was eventually forced to file for bankruptcy.

Queen Mary I, 1516-1558
Daughter of Henry VIII and his first wife, went down in history as the monarch of England, who tried to return the country to the bosom of the Roman Catholic Church after her father, a quarrel with the pope, declared himself head of the new Church of England. Restoration took place against a background of brutal killings of Protestants, the persecution and murder of innocent people, for what is popularly called the Queen Mary Blood. Under that name she made history.

A suspected right-wing Christian gunman in police uniform killed at least 84 people in a ferocious attack on a youth summer camp of Norway's ruling Labour party, hours after a bomb killed seven in Oslo.

National police Chief Oystein Maeland said the attack had reached "catastrophic dimensions."

Witnesses said the gunman, identified by police as a 32-year-old Norwegian, moved across the small, wooded Utoeya holiday island on Friday firing at random as young people scattered in fear.

Police detained the tall, blond suspect, named by local media as Anders Behring Breivik, and charged him for the island killing spree and the Oslo bomb blast.

Norway's national news agency, NTB, reported Saturday that witnesses told police two people were involved in the shooting on the island and that police were looking into this. The report said the second man was not disguised in police uniform.

There are thought to have been hundreds of children on the island, aged from 11 or 12 to 18 or 19.

Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg, capturing the shock the attacks have caused in this normally quiet nation of 4.8 million, said he had been to the island every summer since 1979, saying "my youth paradise, and now it's been changed to hell," according to a simultaneous translation provided by Sky News.

LONDON (AP) — Amy Winehouse, the beehived soul-jazz diva whose self-destructive habits overshadowed a distinctive musical talent, was found dead Saturday in her London home, police said. She was 27.
Winehouse shot to fame with the album "Back to Black," whose blend of jazz, soul, rock and classic pop was a global hit. It won five Grammys and made Winehouse — with her black beehive hairdo and old-fashioned sailor tattoos — one of music's most recognizable stars.
Police confirmed that a 27-year-old female was pronounced dead at the home in Camden Square northern London; the cause of death was not immediately known. London Ambulance Services said Winehouse had died before the two ambulance crews it sent arrived at the scene.
An ambulance could be seen parked beneath the trees outside her London home, and the whole street was cordoned off by police tape. Officers kept onlookers away from the scene.
Last month, Winehouse canceled her European comeback tour after she swayed and slurred her way through barely recognizable songs in her first show in the Serbian capital of Belgrade. Booed and jeered off stage, she flew home and her management said she would take time off to recover.
"I didn't go out looking to be famous," Winehouse told the Associated Press when "Back to Black" was released. "I'm just a musician."

Troubled British singer Amy Winehouse has been found dead at her flat in north London, police said. She was 27 years old.
The Grammy award-winning soul singer struggled with well-documented drink and drug addictions. Her death is being treated as unexplained.
"Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square shortly before 4:05 pm (1505 GMT) today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased," a police statement said.
"On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Enquiries continue into the circumstances of the death. At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained."
London Ambulance Service had been called to the flat at 3:54 pm (1454 GMT) and sent two ambulances.
Winehouse rocketed to fame after winning five Grammy awards off the back of her 2006 second album "Back to Black" and the hit single "Rehab".
In the run-up to her live return, Winehouse spent a week at an addiction treatment clinic in London, reportedly at the suggestion of her father, Mitch, over concerns that she was drinking too much before her shows.

The official definition of paint is that it is a liquid, liquefiable of composition of mastic (adhesive) solutions which, after being applied in a thin layer to a 'substrate', is converted into an opaque and solid film. It may be stating the obvious if one was to say that paint is most commonly used to colour, protect or provide texture to surfaces or objects, however, if one was to think of the many items that paint is applied to: ranging from walls, cars and canvas, it is only logical that there are many different variations and types of paint that are used for their different purposes. For example, the paints sold in hardware stores to be applied to household walls will naturally have a different chemical makeup to children's face paint, as the former would require a far greater degree of water resistance in order for it to be suitable for its purpose.
One such difference between the types of paint is the means by which it is applied. In the case of industrial paints for example, paint is applied in the form of a solid and further in the form of a very fine powder before being baked at a very high temperature. The intense heat then melts the powder and causes it to adhere (stick) to the surface to which it has been applied. The reasons for applying paint in this manner (commonly known as 'Powder Coating') involve the chemistries of the paint, the surface itself and possibly even the chemistry of the overall object being painted (the substrate) itself!

Online education has changed the academic landscape of the country. More and more students now prefer the flexibility of an online college degree to the fixed schedule of classroom-based learning.
Unfortunately, anything that has the potential to revolutionize an established system comes with its own set of detractors and misconceptions. Critics will only fade away with time, but we can try to dispel the incorrect perceptions about online education. Here are five top online degrees myths dispelled and separated from online degrees facts.
Online degree myth: Quality of online degrees is lower than that of campus-based degrees.
Online degree fact: This may have been true some years back, but with the increasing popularity of and demand for online degree programs, education providers have certainly upped the ante as far as quality is concerned. Accredited institutions offering online education have to adhere to the strict quality standards set in place by the agency that recognizes them or risk losing their accreditation. Moreover, the curriculum of most online degree programs offered by brick and mortar colleges is the same as the classroom degrees. However, be wary of diploma mills that continue to grant degrees that are substandard and of little academic value.
Online degree myth: Online degrees are not accepted by employers.
Online degree fact: If you earn your degree from a prestigious, accredited institution, there is no reason why employers would dismiss it. Employers now recognize the importance of technology in imparting education and are also aware of the improvement in the quality of online college degrees, which is why they are likely to treat them at par with a traditional degree.

Homeowner Tax Breaks – There are several breaks when it comes to owning property. You can get a tax credit on much of your related expenses. There are also IRS homeowner incentives that you can write-off for energy efficient upgrades. The bad news is, to take full advantage of these IRS incentives, your paperwork will likely get more complicated. That means you’re not living on “EZ” Street anymore; you’ve moved to the 1040 long form and Schedule A, where you’ll have to detail your deductible expenses to get homeowner tax breaks.
For many homeowners, the effort of itemizing is well worth it at tax time. Some, however, might find that claiming the standard deduction remains their best move. How do you decide?
First, find your standard deduction amount, based on your filing status: $5,450 for taxpayers who are single or married but filing separately; $8,000 for heads of households; and $10,900 for married couples who file joint returns. Then compare it to the total expenses you can itemize and file using the method that gives you the larger deduction.

Free Tax Help – There are tax resources on the Web and at your local library. The IRS has a tax information Website that offers free assistance. However, we have put together a list of these resources if you’re having trouble finding the right information.Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) – The VITA program offers assistance to low-to-moderate-income (generally, $49,000 and below) residents. Certified volunteers sponsored by various organizations receive training to help prepare basic returns at sites across the country. They offer free tax help and are generally located at community and neighborhood centers, libraries, schools, shopping malls and other public locations. Most VITA sites offer free electronic filing. VITA locations can be found at the program’s partial online directory listing or call 1-800-906-9887.

Flipper- September 19, 1964 at 7:30pm on NBC-Life Span: 3 years-Wildlife or Mildlife: This mild-mannered bottlenose dolphin swam his way into the hearts of a generation of children with his joyous laugh, seafaring adventures, and ability to avoid the tuna can. Plus, that infectious theme song just dove into your subconscious and still surfaces forty-plus years later -- "They called him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning..."

Life Is Wild- October 7, 2007 at 8pm on The CW-Life Span: 4 months-Wildlife or Mildlife: Life certainly was "Wild" for the Clarke family, who relocated with their veterinarian father from the urban jungle of New York to the floral jungle of Africa. Unfortunately, viewers didn't flock to the show, and it went extinct after thirteen episodes.

Daktari-January 11, 1966 at 7:30pm on CBS-Life Span: 4 years-Wildlife or Mildlife: In the vast jungle of television programs, this wild African-set series was the only place to sight Clarence the cross-eyed lion and Judy the chimp. These inter-species pals were the real stars of the series and they dethroned Dr. Marsh Tracy as the show's alpha male.

Born Free-September 9, 1974 at 8pm on NBC-Life Span: 3 months-Wildlife or Mildlife: Joy and George Adamson raised orphaned lion cubs in the wild African Sahara. Since the series was based on the Oscar-nominated film of the same name, it should have been king of the TV jungle. Instead, the pride left this weakling series behind to be devoured by TV network jackals.

If you wish to get the sexy bronze look of Hollywood beauties, choose air brush tanning, which is the best self tanner. People with extremely fair skin should avoid the sun and choose self tanning products that contain DHA (Di -hydroxyl acetone). This compound gradually works on the dead cells present on the surface of your skin, giving you an even tan.

Many salons provide air brush tanning services. However, you can do it on your own, provided you know the correct technique of "shading" your skin.

You can easily get the best self tanner in spray form on the internet. Reputable sites offer this product at affordable cost and appreciable shipping. But, before you order a spray tanner, you should know the right way to use it.

I have been giving some thought to what were the best Kids TV programmes of all time and this has caused huge arguments between friends and colleagues and it will undoubtedly have a lot of people outraged because I've left out their favourite. That is part of the fun though...
My Top Ten Kids TV Programmes Of All Time:
1) Big Barn Farm. Although this is a very new TV show it is the only time I can ever remember the whole house stopping to watch a programme and that is why it's at number one. My lads aged 2 & 4 both love it and I have to admit all the adults think it is extremely clever too. Real animals in a real farm act out the story and due to camera trickery their lips move too. Works well with some splendid narration. My favourite characters are Digger the dog and Madame the French cow who says "Moo-La-La".
2) Lazytown. The Icelandic TV show featuring Sportacus has been a hit in over 100 countries and dubbed into at least 12 languages. The star of the show is Sportacus, played by Magnus Scheving a gymnastics champion. The show has been directly responsible for an increase in sales of fruit and vegetables which Sportacus refers to as "Sports Candy".
3) Dr Who. First aired in 1963 it is the longest running science fiction show anywhere. My favourite story so far is "Genesis Of The Daleks" which had a lot of social comment comment and parallels. David Tennant may be fantastic as the Doctor but at least my wife doesn't drool over Tom Baker which is another good reason for picking this story.

If you want to achieve that 'just back from the beach' look and flaunt bronze tanned skin then you need the best self tanner. Self tanners give a beautiful golden glow to your skin without subjecting you to the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun. However, you cannot just depend on any tanning product available in the market, as some of them can give an awkward color to your skin or make your complexion uneven or pale.
Here are some tips for choosing the best self tanner.
Look For Ingredients
The main purpose of sunless tanning is to avoid the harmful effects, like skin cancer and sun burns, of Sun tanning. But, remember that self tanners contain chemicals that react with the cells of the upper layer of the skin to give you a tanned look. Therefore, before buying a tanning product, you should check its ingredients. They should be safe and should cause no side effects. Some of the ingredients found in the best self tanners are DHA (Di-Hydroxyl acetone) and Tyrosine. If your skin is sensitive, you should consult your dermatologist before buying a self-tanner.

animals in space

Animals in Space
The first animals deliberately sent into space were some American fruit Flies in 1947.
First Primate
The first primate in Space was Albert II in 1949. Albert was a rhesus monkey. Unfortunately, his parachute failed and he died.
First Rodent
An American Mouse went into space in 1950. I think this was the first rodent in space.
In 1951, two Russian dogs went into space. Their names were Tsygan and Dezik. These early pioneers of space flight did not get into Earth orbit.
First Orbit
The first animal to make a complete orbit of the Earth was a Russian dog named Laika. Unfortunately Laika did not survive the flight.
Many animals died in the early days. The first monkeys to survive space flight were American. They were called Able and Baker. This was in 1959.
Two dogs went into orbit on the 19th of August 1960. They not only survived the ordeal, but one of them, Strelka later had puppies. One of these was given as a present by the chairman of the council of ministers of the Soviet Union, Nikita Khruchev, to Caroline Kennedy. This dog's descendents still exist.
Piloting Spacecraft
Although these animals went into space, they did not have to do much. It was not really known if it was possible to do normal things in space. This was important. A pilot needs to be able to pilot his craft.
First Hominid
To test this, the first Ape was sent up. On January the 31st 1961, Ham, a four and a half year old Chimpanzee, went up and successfully performed the tasks set. Ham survived his sub orbital flight and was congratulated after landing.
First Rat
A French Rat went up on the 22nd of February 1961.
First guinea Pig
A Russian Guinea Pig went into space on March the 9th 1961.
First Human
On April the 12th 1961 the then Major Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin made his historic orbit of the Earth and was hailed as a hero on his safe return. Animals continue to play an important role in our extraterrestrial investigations.
Felix the Cat
On October the 31st 1963, France launched a cat named Felix into space. Felix returned alive.
First Fish
On April the 16th 1972, Skylab 3 had Killifish. It also had spiders, and the first spider web was built in space.
Deep Space
Although both Animals and Humans had survived close to The Earth, they were still protected to some extent by our planet's magnetic field. There was still the question of whether we could survive away from this protection.
First Tortoise
One of the first animals to go round the Moon was a Russian Horsfield's Tortoise on September the 14th 1968. It was accompanied on its pioneering voyage by Meal Worms and Wine Flies.
Water-bears
In September 2007, the European Space Agency sent up some Tardigrades. This is a tiny animal also called a water-bear. These hardy animals survived the vacuum of space without protection for ten days.

Today not only are famous people affected with eating disorders but the normal people are as well. Yet when people think of famous people with eating disorders the name that springs to most peoples minds is that of Karen Carpenter, who suffered from anorexia.
Along with her brother Richard she had formed the group known as "The Carpenters" and would play to large audiences around the world. Yet through out the time she was battling with anorexia and it was only after her death at the age of 32 in 1983 that it came to light she suffered from this particular eating disorder.
As with all anorexia sufferers because they choose to not eat correctly or sufficient amounts of food they actually put large amounts of strain on to their body. Karen Carpenter actually suffered a heart attack and this was the main cause of her death.

dolly the sheep

Posted by showbiz | 04:20 | | 0 comments »

Dolly the sheep may have been the world's most famous clone, but she was not the first. Cloning creates a genetically identical copy of an animal or plant. Many animals - including frogs, mice, and cows - had been cloned before Dolly. Plants are often cloned – taking a cutting produces a clone of the original plant. Human identical twins are also clones.

Dolly was the first mammal to be cloned from an adult cell, rather than an embryo. This was a major scientific achievement, but also raised ethical concerns.

Since 1996, when Dolly was born, other sheep have been cloned from adult cells, as have mice, rabbits, horses and donkeys, pigs, goats and cattle. In 2004 a mouse was cloned using a nucleus from an olfactory neuron, showing that the donor nucleus can come from a tissue of the body that does not normally divide.

The fluffy female – who died in 2003 – was arguably the world's most famous sheep because of this famous first. But did you know she wasn't the first cloned animal? And that there have been several cloned critters since Dolly? Will humans be next?

Foods named after famous people. Ever been told, “You are what you eat"? If you were Jerry Garcia or this oil tycoon, that saying would be closer to the truth. July is National Culinary Arts Month, so let’s take a look at the famous namesakes behind some of our favorite foods.

Every day, marketers convince hundreds of people to spend money on useless “energy saving” gadgets. Since these marketers show no signs of going away, it’s time to highlight their products with a ten-worst list.

The order of the products described in the following list is random. I had to remove an eleventh item from this list: “insulating” paints, a product category that I debunked in a recent blog. If you know of a deserving product that should have been included in this list, feel free to post nominations for the list’s second edition.

The Ten Most Useless Energy-Related Products

1. Tyvek ThermaWrap. In 2006, this “low-e” housewrap suffered from a disastrous launch by bumbling DuPont marketers who bragged that the “insulating” properties of the housewrap were due in part to its low emissivity. Reviewing the product for Energy Design Update, I asked ThermaWrap representatives to specify the emissivity of the membrane, only to be told that “due to company policy,” DuPont was “not at liberty to reveal the actual emissivity number for Tyvek ThermaWrap.” Later, when my journalistic investigations revealed that DuPont had failed to produce a ThermaWrap fact sheet as required by the Federal R-Value Rule, DuPont reluctantly admitted that ThermaWrap has an emissivity of 0.2 — exactly the same value that EDU predicted in its September 2006 review. The emissivity of ThermaWrap is too high to qualify as either a radiant barrier or a reflective insulation. DuPont no longer repeats its earlier claim that “Tyvek ThermaWrap changes the dynamics of heat flow across the entire wall system and dramatically helps improve the insulating value of the wall system.” In fact, if ThermaWrap is installed facing an air space, it will change the R-value of the air space from R-1 to R-2 — a change that few would characterize as “dramatic.” In response to my reporting, ThermaWrap’s product manager eventually wrote EDU a letter noting that “DuPont regrets any lack of clarity in its DuPont Tyvek ThermaWrap literature, as well as the incomplete nature of the information supplied to EDU.”

"The Star-Spangled Banner" is the national anthem of the United States of America. The lyrics come from "Defence of Fort McHenry", a poem written in 1814 by the 35-year-old lawyer and amateur poet, Francis Scott Key, after witnessing the bombardment of Fort McHenry by the British Royal Navy ships in Chesapeake Bay during the Battle of Fort McHenry in the War of 1812.
The poem was set to the tune of a popular British drinking song, written by John Stafford Smith for the Anacreontic Society, a men's social club in London. "The Anacreontic Song" (or "To Anacreon in Heaven"), with various lyrics, was already popular in the United States. Set to Key's poem and renamed "The Star-Spangled Banner", it would soon become a well-known American patriotic song. With a range of one and a half octaves, it is known for being difficult to sing. Although the song has four stanzas, only the first is commonly sung today, with the fourth ("O! thus be it ever when free men shall stand...") added on more formal occasions. The fourth stanza includes the line "And this be our motto: In God is our Trust.". The United States adopted "In God We Trust" as its national motto in 1956.
"The Star-Spangled Banner" was recognized for official use by the Navy in 1889 and the President in 1916, and was made the national anthem by a congressional resolution on March 3, 1931 (46 Stat. 1508, codified at 36 U.S.C. § 301), which was signed by President Herbert Hoover.
Before 1931, other songs served as the hymns of American officialdom. "Hail, Columbia" served this purpose at official functions for most of the 19th century. "My Country, 'Tis of Thee", whose melody is identical to the British national anthem, also served as a de facto anthem before the adoption of "The Star-Spangled Banner." Following the War of 1812 and subsequent American wars, other songs would emerge to compete for popularity at public events, among them "The Star-Spangled Banner."

Star-Spangled Banner becomes official March 3, 1931 On this day in 1931, President Herbert Hoover signed into law legislation making “The Star-Spangled Banner” the nation’s official national anthem.

Francis Scott Key (1779-1843) composed the poem that became "The Star-Spangled Banner” on Sept. 14, 1814, after witnessing the massive overnight British bombardment of Fort McHenry in Baltimore harbor, a key assault during the War of 1812. Key, a lawyer, watched the siege while being detained aboard ship by British sailors. He penned the words after observing, with shock and awe, that the flag – with its 15 stars and 15 stripes – had survived the nearly 1,800-bomb assault.

A Baltimore newspaper published the patriotic lyrics, which had circulated as a handbill, a week after the bombardment. Key’s words were later set to the tune of “To Anacreon in Heaven,” a popular English song. Throughout the 19th century, most branches of the U.S. armed forces and other groups regarded “The Star Spangled Banner” as the national anthem. (The Navy recognized it for official use in 1889.)

Best & worst national anthem singers Since 1931, a galaxy of stars have put their own spin on the national anthem. On this July 4, to get us in the Independence Day spirit, let's look back at performances that set off some fireworks and some that made others cover their ears.

The fourth of July is important for politicians, and even more so for those angling to be president. While they won't get a vacation, the day does provide a stage for candidates to showcase their patriotism and political independence.

It's happened — somehow, it's gotten to be summer already. Summer means Fourth of July celebrations, and fireworks offer wonderful opportunities for photography. Despite the somewhat challenging circumstances (nighttime and with bright, moving light), it's actually pretty easy to photograph fireworks as long as you follow some simple guidelines. You'll find that many of these suggestions are a lot like those we discussed in our article on how to photograph lightning, because many of the principles are the same.
Tips for using your camera phone
Before we dive in, know that no matter what equipment you have at hand, you can still snap great fireworks photos. Fireworks have the benefit of generally being very bright, so it is possible to get decent photos even without an expensive camera. Since the sensors on compact cameras and camera phones don't tend to be as large as on the average DSLR, motion blur can be a significant issue. Take extra care to hold your camera as still and steady as possible. If your camera phone can capture video, that might be an even better option, especially for the grand finale! And read on — much of the general shooting advice here will still help you work wonders in your photos.
Fireworks Mode: Easy and automated
Beyond camera phones, many "point-and-shoot" digital cameras offer a special fireworks shooting mode that's definitely worth trying out. To figure out if your camera has this option, hunt around in the settings for a small icon that looks like a burst of fireworks (hopefully it will be labeled). This mode will automate much of the challenge of capturing bright bursts of light at night, ideal if you'd prefer to kick back and let your camera do the legwork.
It should be noted that "night mode" is not the same as "fireworks mode" — the former will use the camera's flash, which isn't helpful for shooting fireworks, so make sure you turn off the flash if you use that setting. If you don't have a fireworks mode and you aren't comfortable delving into the more advanced settings, you might want to try landscape mode; it will set your focus to infinity and give you a nice, wide depth of field.

Relying on a salesperson to choose the best car for you, instead of doing your own homework, is possibly the worst kind of car-buying rip-off and there's no-one to blame but yourself.

While a good salesperson can help you select from what's available at her dealership, you can't expect her to tell you that a competing product is superior or more suited to you. That's not her job.

It's up to you to honestly assess your needs, read the reviews and test drive a few cars to make your selection. If you've done all that and still end up with a dud, then maybe you can blame a salesperson if it makes you feel better.ee credit report ads on TV do make one good point. No, not that you should sign up for their services but that you actually should understand your credit.

That way, when you go car shopping, no-one can tell you your credit's not good enough to get the best possible auto financing. Unless, of course, it isn't. If you really do have bad credit, well, that's all the more reason to be careful.

The best approach is to shop for credit before you shop for a car. Having pre-arranged financing puts you in the best possible bargaining position.

You need guts to take your Lamborghini onto a racetrack. But all the big shots who took part in the Ultimate Lamborghini Experience have nothing on a Southern California squirrel with serious nerve.

The annual event, held in late June at California Speedway in Fontana, invites Lambo owners to test their skills on a two-and-a-half-mile open track. It promises "an incredible rush of speed and sound that will quicken the pulse and stir the soul."

Well, it sure lived up to that billing for this squirrel:

The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays. Not only do you get to party, have fun and eat great food but you also get a fireworks show at the end of the day. I love cooking for the Fourth of July and over the
years, we've found and invented some great recipes! These are the best sides we have for the holidays. Enjoy these hits from my family to yours.
Mom's Uber Macaroni and Cheese
We can't have a holiday without this dish. We did only once and there was mutiny at the dinner table! It's a delicious dish and can be cooked along side almost anything.
You will need

1 bag of wide egg noodles
1 tub of cottage cheese (about 16 ounces)
1 tub of sour cream (about 8 ounces)
1 egg
4 cups of shredded cheese. We like Colby jack the best but cheddar also tastes great.
1/4 tsp Salt and 1/8 tsp pepper
a squirt of mustard (about 1 tsp) 2 cups of cheese to top it with. Keep this separate.
Boil the noodles according to the package directions. While they are boiling, mix the ingredients in a bowl. Drain the noodles when they are done. You may want to shake the drainer to get excess water out. Mix the noodles into the cheese mixture. Pour into a 9X13 pan (I use two pans. One 9X13 and an 8x8) and cover with aluminum foil with one corner torn off so you can check the food while it cooks. Bake on 350-400 until cheese mix is bubbly (this usually takes 20-30 minutes. Pull it out and take off the aluminum foil. Spread the 2 cups of cheese across the top and place it back in the oven until the cheese on top is melted. You can cook it just until the cheese starts to brown but I wouldn't go any further than that.
I love this for lunches and thought you might enjoy it also. I cook brown rice in a rice cooker but you can make instant rice or heat the rice in the precooked plastic bags. Pour a can of black beans into a bowl and
fill it half way with picante sauce or salsa and heat. Place one cup of cooked rice in a bowl. Top with the bean mixture, onion and cheese. It is a very delicious dish and pretty easy to make too!
Mashed Potatoes with a kick!
Boil about 10 potatoes in a pot. Don't worry if this is too much for your family, this recipe freezes well. When they are done, drain the potatoes. Add 1/2 to 1 stick of butter or margarine, 1 small tub of sour cream, 1 TBSP of McCormick's Vegetable seasoning and salt and pepper to taste. Blend or mash and serve. You can also add cheese or onions.
The leftovers freeze well since there is no milk to spoil in the freezing and thawing process. I freeze them in ziplock containers. When it's time to eat them up, take them from the freezer and microwave. It will look watery and scary at first. In fact, I was warned of this and worried that I messed it up. You haven't goofed, just keep microwaving. I microwave them for 5 minutes at first, the 2 minutes at a time. Stir after each time. When they look like mashed potatoes again, serve!
Ugly Dip
For something a little different, try this dip. It looks like someone vomited into the crockpot but if you can manage to stomach the thought and get it in your mouth, it is just divine!
Heat 1 pound of ground beef and 1 pound of hot sausage until it is brown all the way through, drain and put in the crockpot (or a pan on the stove. Crockpot is easiest but not a must). Add 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, 16 ounces of cubed velveeta and 16 ounces of medium or hot salsa.
Heat through until the velveeta has melted completely and the mix is creamy. Serve with corn chips like frito lay's scoops. You can alter this recipe by using mild sausage and salsa but we love it HOT!
Happy Fourth of July and Good eating!

Prince William celebrates Canada, begins unforgettable adventure Britain's Prince William and his wife, Catherine, joined a crowd of almost 300,000 Canadians to mark the celebration of Canada Day.
Friday marks the 144th anniversary of the country's independence and what would have been the 50 birthday of Diana, Princess of Wales.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were flanked by members of the Canadian Guard as they made the one-mile journey from the Canadian Museum of Civilization to the lawns of Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
The royal couple blushed and beamed as crowds erupted in applause. Prince William thanked the crowd in both French and English for their "extremely warm" welcome. In addition to conveying his grandmother's wishes for a happy day of celebration, the duke took a moment to recognize the Canadian armed forces serving in Afghanistan.
"This is an important moment for Canada for this month the servicemen and women in the Canadian armed forces cease their combat role in Afghanistan," the Duke said.
"N'oublions jamais," never forget, he added in French referring to the sacrifice of Canada's servicemen.
"Catherine and I are also thrilled and excited by the prospect of the next 8 days ... it will be an adventure that we will never forget," he said.
The itinerary for the nine-day tour features a mix of official events with and less formal activities, including a cooking workshop in Montreal and the Calgary Stampede, an annual rodeo and festival.
This is their first official foreign trip as a married couple.
Earlier in the day, the royal couple welcomed 25 of Canada's newest citizens at a Citizenship Ceremony. Prince William smiled and shook each persons' hand while the Duchess passed out Canadian flags.
Thousands camped out on Parliament Hill with the hopes of nabbing the perfect spot to see the royal couple as they participate in celebrations.
Kate wore a creme dress by Canadian designer Reiss to the ceremony, CNN affiliate CTV reports. She also donned a red hat topped with maple leaves and the Queen's Maple Leaf broach.
Prince William and Kate arrived in Ottawa on Thursday aboard a Royal Canadian Air Force jet.
"Catherine and I are so delighted to be here in Canada. Instilled in us by our parents and grandparents, we love this country. We have been looking forward to this moment for a very long time," William said.
Prince Charles and Diana visited Canada in 1983.

"So tell me what's the ultimate rock star look?" people ask me expecting that I should have the answer, being the designer of that clothing line called Fashion Rocks. Indeed, on Google, the search term "How to
dress like a rock star?" is high on my list.
Most of us aren't rock stars and really don't know what it takes to be on tour all the time and rock out on stage at night, so it's a bit of a challenge to keep up that genuine look of rock star, I understand. Of course I am not a rock star either. I put my rock 'n' roll idols on dresses, skirts, pants as well as other garments and accessories except t-shirts, because I think these icons deserve better than to be limited to one single piece of clothing, but anyways - I get to this concept in another article - I feel like after more than a decade of designing and styling rock fashion, I should have an answer to that question of what makes a star rock after all.
So I've come up with a short list that should make it easy to meet that sort of challenge and if you just have at least 2-3 of these items handy, you're sure to have a rock vibe going:

A senior Russian intelligence officer convicted of working for the United States fled Russia on a train just before the Americans busted his 10 sleeper agents.
Details of Col. Alexander Poteyev's quick escape and farewell text message to his wife — asking her to "try to take it calmly" — were among evidence produced by the court Monday as it found him guilty in absentia of high treason and desertion.
Pinup spy Anna Chapman, one of the 10 agents deported from the U.S. in July, testified during the closed trial that only Poteyev could have provided the information that led to their arrest last summer, Russian news agencies reported, citing a summary of the evidence read by the judge as he issued his ruling.
Chapman testified that she was caught after an undercover U.S. agent contacted her using a code that only Poteyev and her personal handler knew, the reports said. She said she immediately felt during the meeting that something was wrong and called her handler in Moscow, who confirmed her suspicions. Chapman and others were arrested shortly after.

He has dark hair, was unshaven or has a dark beard and mustache.
The man was armed with a handgun, stole prescription drugs and killed everyone in the shop — including a 17-year-old girl who was to graduate from high school this week — before fleeing with a black backpack.

How much you can make from inserting articles as well as affiliate hyperlinks on your internet site differs from individual to individual. How much you are able to make depends mostly how successful your site is. This means getting good search engine rankings by means of SEO endeavours, making your site enjoyable as well as informative to read through interesting content, creating your site around a great area of interest subject, how big your site is, and how many sites you have.
Some people claim to help make as much as $10,000 per month ($120,000 per year) via building and also promoting sites in niches, however, many people should not assume this kind of achievement, especially if you are very new, since that kind of success usually only comes with experience and acquired skill. A reasonable revenue to expect from a distinct segment site, once you’ve worked for months to get traffic and therefore are hooked up along with good affiliates, may be $500-$1,000 per month. However this is recurring revenue, so you can make that much month-to-month off of the endeavours you put directly into that one website, it is not a one shot deal.
